The Hudson School is happy to introduce 6 new members to the faculty and staff for the upcoming school year. Please join us in welcoming them to our community!

Theresa Brons has been appointed US and MS math teacher. She took her B.A. at North Central College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia. Most recently, Theresa was an analyst at IPsoft in New York City. Prior to that, she was an instructor at UGA teaching Calculus in the Engineering School. She has given a number of presentations at conferences most recently, “Representations of Algebraic Groups and Line-bundle Cosmology over Flag Varieties” in São Paulo, Brazil.

Melinda Gely joins the World Language department to teach Spanish part-time. (She can also teach French and Italian.) Melinda graduated from University of Chambrey in France. We are happy to have Melinda on staff on a daily basis.

Annika Hudson joins The Hudson School as a Middle School Counselor, ISP Coordinator, and Health teacher. She took her B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Pittsburgh and her M.A. in School Counseling at Gwynedd Mercy University. Most recently, Annika was a school counselor at West Allegheny Middle School and Mt. Lebanon High School. She was a Resident Advisor at Pitt where she created and developed a Conflict Resolution Plan for the University. Annika also took a year away from college to teach English in the Dominican Republic.

Francine Mannarino joins The Hudson School as 5th Grade math teacher after teaching Advanced Algebra and Statistics at The Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies for seven years. Francine took her B.A. and M.A. in Math from New York University where she graduated with Honors.

With the retirement of Catharine Baldwin, Monica Snavely will take over as 6th-grade Coordinator. She will teach Language Arts and History as well as Movement.  Monica previously taught 8th grade English for four years at Hudson before leaving in 2013. For the last two years, she has been teaching movement to our 5th and 6th graders. Monica took her B.A. from Virginia Tech and her M.A. from The University of New Mexico. Catharine and Monica worked closely during Monica’s first tenure and they have been meeting over the summer to ensure a smooth transition.

Ioanna Tsakalakos began in early August as The Hudson School’s Office Manager. Ioanna took her B.A. in Comparative Literature and Music at Rutgers University and pursued her Classical Voice training in Athens, Greece, at the Athens Conservatory, where she received Highest Honors. While pursuing her M.M. in Classical Vocal Performance at New Jersey City University, she served as an administrator for the Music, Dance and Theatre Department. Ioanna sings opera, as well as other classical vocal music.
