THS Distance Learning

The Hudson School is here. Learning thrives at THS under any and all circumstances, as it has for more than 40 years. We see this as a challenge and an opportunity to learn and develop new solutions. Our small size and all hands-on deck nature allowed us to pivot to meaningful distance learning quickly and efficiently.

Update: 5/11/20 @ 4:00 PM

Distance learning at The Hudson School will continue through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. Information regarding end-of-year procedures and celebrations will be sent out in the coming weeks.

As a community of learners and doers, we gather daily in video chats and messages. Here are some of our takeaways:

“Hi Mr. Perkinson,

I was going to write a thank-you note to each of my children's teachers, but really, our gratitude as a family extends to everyone at The Hudson School. So I figured I'd just address it you as the head of school. :)

I know a lot of effort and time went into the transition to online learning, and given the circumstances, I don't think it could have gone better. While [my husband] and I struggled to get into new routines all last week (and did a lot of worrying along the way), our kids just went about their business. Happily so.

All of you at THS should feel immensely proud of how well you are serving your students. You are giving them a sense of normalcy, and keeping them engaged and connected. The world has practically stopped, but they are still learning. If that doesn't prove teachers are heroes, I don't know what would!

We are incredibly grateful.

Wishing everyone health and peace during this difficult time.”
